Department of Genetics and Biomedical Informatics
The Department of Genetics and Biomedical Informatics aims at major frontier scientific issues and the major strategic needs of the country, and conducts interdisciplinary research in medical genetics, life omics, information technology, and artificial intelligence. The department has a strong teaching staff, with many national overseas high-level introduced talents, national "Ten Thousand Talents Plan" leading talents, winners of the "Excellent Youth Science Fund" of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, "Young Changjiang Scholars" of the Ministry of Education, etc. It has published a number of original research results with important influence in international first-class journals such as Nature, Science, Cell, Lancet, British Medical Journal, Nature Medicine, Nature Methods, Nature Biomedical Engineering, The Innovation, Nature Reviews Genetics, Nature Genetics, and Lancet Digital Health. The current teaching staff consists of 24 people, including 9 professors, 3 chief physicians, and 4 associate professors. The department offers related courses such as "Medical Genetics", "Bioinformatics", "Fundamentals of Medical Information Technology", and "Medical Artificial Intelligence".
