On the morning of Wednesday, November 13, 2024, a delegation of nine people led by Professor Wu Jian, the member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Yunnan University, and Li Yajia, the Party Secretary of the School of Medicine at Yunnan University, visited our college for an exchange and tour. Hao Yajuan, the Party Secretary of our college, Wang Shuzhen, the Vice Dean, Chen Qing, the Deputy Director of the Teaching Development Office of the Academic Affairs Department of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Zhang Kunsong, the Executive Deputy Director of the Skills Center of Sun Yat-sen University, Li Jing, the Supervisor of the Medical Education Office of Sun Yat-sen University, and Feng Shaoting, the Deputy Director of the Education Office of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, participated in this exchange together.
At the symposium, Secretary Hao Yajuan first extended a warm welcome on behalf of the college to the members of the Yunnan University delegation. Vice Dean Wang Shuzhen introduced in detail the development history, organizational structure, teaching staff, talent cultivation, scientific research platforms, and discipline construction of medical education in our university. And she mainly focused on the construction of the quality assurance system that the other party was concerned about and conducted exchanges in combination with the requirements of the audit and evaluation and the practices of the medical disciplines of Sun Yat-sen University.

Vice President Wu Jian of Yunnan University expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of our college and briefly introduced the development process and current situation of Yunnan University.
Subsequently, Teacher Chen Qing, the Deputy Director of the Teaching Development Office of the Academic Affairs Department of Sun Yat-sen University, introduced in detail the specific practices and achievements of undergraduate education in our university around aspects such as undergraduate education and teaching, including the innovation of the curriculum system, the improvement of teaching methods, and the optimization of the evaluation mechanism. In addition, Professor Zhang Kunsong, the Executive Deputy Director of the Skills Center, introduced in detail the construction process of the Clinical Skills Center of our university, the investment in hardware facilities, the design of simulation training projects and their implementation effects, emphasizing the important role of the Clinical Skills Center in improving the clinical skills and practical abilities of medical students.
Finally, both sides at the meeting carried out a comprehensive and detailed discussion on aspects such as the construction of the quality assurance system for the cultivation of clinical medicine professionals, the innovative models of talent cultivation, and the operation mechanism of the clinical skills center, aiming to further learn from the successful experiences of educational and teaching reforms, improve the quality of talent cultivation, and promote the development of medical education management. The visiting guests said that through this symposium, they not only learned the advanced experiences of Sun Yat-sen University in undergraduate education and teaching and the cultivation of medical talents but also felt the educational concept of being scientific, rigorous, practical, and innovative.
